She loves the beach, hip hop, gaffite, surf, running, the night, nutella and riding the motorboat with her friends.
She worked as a designer for Rygy's swimmwear Fitenss line.
Specialized in intimate fashion at Friburgo (lingerie pole of Brazil).

Nowadays she's a stylist, also working as the fashion producer in the 'Moda de Rua' show, on the website Bolsa de Mulher, the biggest dedicated to female style site in Latin America.

Fashion Show Brown Thomas - Dublin

This Saturday, March 26, we covered some fashion shows at Brown Thomas. We were already very well received on our arrival, with smiles and champagne.
The first show we watched was Hugo Boss. The show contained this season's tendencies in a lot of fields, such as weekends, late nights out, and offices. We saw flower prints, colours such as Coral in accessories (which is a strong trend, as we saw in one of our posts), Safari, Minimalistic, Knitting and Navy trends.




The show's acessories:

The show's hostess looked incredible with this mixture of prints! 






Elie Tahari's show began with a very thick dress with Clutch Bag, and a low wedge, which gave the look a 'sophisticated weekend' sort of feeling. It went from office to weekend looks. But what got the most of my attention were the Bambu prints (that look incredible with green) and the POP Colours, which gave all the looks, even the most sober ones, the Spring-Summer feeling.






The 70's influence is apparent in some of the looks, if you think that the 70', with all it's colours, can't be chic, Elie proved you wrong with the final dress on the runway. Sophisticated, with a lot of colours, and a golden shine on top, put together with the right accessories, it became a party look.





The accessories that won me over were the bags created by the Irish Fashion Designer Pauric Sweeney. 

On the show, we were invited to the back stage, and met the wonderful models Yomiko, Aoife and Sarah, after being very well received by Rachel Cunningham, from Brown Thoma's marketing department. 


The last show of the day was by Duchamp, that's right, male fashion. I confess that personally, male shows seem to me 'black, grey and boring', but my vision was completely changed by the first male model to walk down the runway. A show full of colours and trends, smoothly printed shirts, ties with at least 15 colours, suits with the inside and out of the colarbone in vibrant colours, Trouser's bars folded, shirts with the sleeves hanging out,  and colourful shoes took over the runway and gave a new meaning to the office look. The weekend looks are more bold and creative, to the modern men.





By talking to Marc Psarolis, I found out that most of the jewelry are made in England, which is completely out of the question to most stores nowadays (they make everything in China or India). The details compose the beautiful looks.

And that was our Fashion Show day at Brown Thomas.

The show's look (I couldn't take off the coat because it was too cold!) But the dress is gorgeous, by Bershka, and the coat is from M&S, the shoes from my personal stock, Bag from Primark, and rings from Forever21.

Coral Trend

With the spring collections already resting on the shops racks, it's obvious that the reigning color this season is Coral (with all it's tons)!



In Fast Fashions such as Primark, H&M, TOPSHOP, RIVERISLAND FOREVER21, New Look amongst others, this color, that leaves us standing in doubt between pink and orange, shows itself in a lot of itens.



This inspiration does come from fashion shows! We can see Coral in 'Diane Von Furstanberg' accessories, in ARTDECO make-up lines, and also in some Luis Vuitton and Matthew Williamson itens.









It has also been taking over girls nails here on the north hemisphere!



Coral is a chich color, that gives like to any monochromatic look. And it's the turning point in all multicolor look!

The Second Hand Brand.

Second hand clothes and accessories are itens that have already been bought, worn, and given away by the owners to be sold again. At first you may think ‘Why buy something that is being resold?’ Well, first of all, not all itens were actually worn, and the ones that were, if in perfect shape, why not? We pay so much money on new things, when there are good and old things by one third of the price! If you think these itens are dirty, ripped, or falling apart, you haven’t been in a second hand store in a while, have you?

Second hand itens are not only cheap, but they can really improve your look, sometimes even more than new ones! Think about it, they come from a different time, therefore the fashion was different back then, and a lot of them can’t be found nowadays, isn’t it the best way to give a new life to your looks?

The majority of it can be called vintage, and they are very popular nowadays, even celebrities with enough money to buy the whole Channel collection use second hand clothes, bags, hats… They are beautiful because they have a story.


Look at how Dakota Fanning owns not one, but two lovely second hand blazers.

The best thing about it is that it will always confirm your own style, anything you buy in a second hand store will be of your own taste and perception, without further influence. Sometimes you may even find Designer itens for the price of average ones! I love going to these places because I always tend to find something that is completely ‘me’, with quality, by the price of bananas and sometimes I can even find designer brand clothes.

What's in her bag?

1. Wallet - Miu Miu, bought at Catherina Labouré Jumble - Ipanema / Rio de Janeiro

2. Glasses - Vintage, bought at Le Chloë-Sofie Boutique (from my cousin Raabe - @rabeezy)

3. Scrapbook - Pucca, bought at Americanas Stores.

4. Pen - I love Paris, gift from Lia from GlamRock.

5. Pendrive - I'm always with my pendrive. Picking up images, storing files, it's always with me!

6. Nextel - I find it a bit annoying, but I still need it lol.

7. Blackberry - This one I love! I even call it Crackberry, from all the addiction it causes. With it I'm at social networks, receiving emails and looking at websites 24/7. Love it!

8. Tissue - It's always good to have tissue in your bag, be it to take a bit of make-up glow off during the day or dry your lipstick... anyway.

9. Mouth washer - I can't eat anything without having to feel a bit of freash air in my mouth. If the busy life or the place doesn't allow you to brush your teeth, it's perfect!

10. Lipstick - Of an almost matte texture, this one from Tract's collection 'Chicletes' has a beautiful orange tone, I'm loving it! It's called Coral Gum.

11.  Brush - of very soft and slightly velvety bristles, this on is for compact base powder and it's from Prada.

12. M.A.C Studio Fix - Powder Plus Foundation - Powder base, I love having it on my bag and retouch my make-up when necessary.

13. Book: Hollywood's Dark Star - Heath Çedger's Biography. This book I got as soon as it came to Brazil from a friend (@kabbal07) that knew how I liked (and still do) cator Heath Ledger. But because of my lack of time and need to read other books, only now have I gotten to it. I recommend it for fans!

14. Camera - I love to take pictures (though I'm no "Yvan Rodic"), I'm always with my Canon EOS Rebel Xti, to register anything interesting I mind find around, and though everyone fears it might be heavy: it's not!

15. Bag Inspired - it's my favorite! Inspired by Balenciaga's Motorcycle, it's made of mesh and it's my newest buy from LivBelle (sells on the internet).

Panama Hat

The cold is going away, the store rails are being dominated by all the new Spring Collections!
New Collection, new love, right?
My first love this season is the Panama-Hat (El Fino is it's original name, for the ones who prefer it vintage), but despite the name, it originally comes from Equador.
If we look at the hottest fashion celebs, we can see the hat appearing! We already saw Blake Lively using it here.
In 1906 Santos Dumont already walked around in his! More celebs joined the club during history: Harry Truman, Getúlio Vargas, Tom Jobim, Clark Gable and even Michael Jackson.
The popular hat has reborn and has now multiple versions! The usual black-stripe can be substituted for flowered stripes, with brooch etc.
It doesn't matter which one is your favorite, this is a "must-have" item in your closet, making any simple spring look, fabulous.

New Partnerships!

The title explains itself, we have new partnerships, dear Maria Modista, OhGirllls (http://ohgirlls.tumblr.com), Chilli in Fashion, Azize Fashion and Maison da Nana.
Why have these blogs everything to do with our store? They talk about trends (as does Lilac Fashion), tips for your daily looks (and guess what? All the itens for these looks you can find on Lilac Fashion).

OhGirllls was born on the 2nd of August (2010). There were 3 girls writing, but today just Ingrid Rocha remains. She has internacional readers (including us here on Lilac Fashion, we love her blog!), does interviews and suggests perfect looks everyday to help you!

Maria Modista was created because of Maria's passion, writing! She has already written for http://modalovers.com/ and decided to go to the blogosphere by herself (and is doing very well). The Blog gives you versatile tips, between news and trends.

Chilli in Fashion counts on 3 bloggers: Patty Lupicinio, Samanta Azize (also an Azize Fashion partner!) and Tati Gis. The girls talk about fashion in a different way, they say it's the 'most spicy Blog on the Blogosphere".

Azize Fashion is a side project of full-time blogger Samanta Azize, and it gives you tips on how to wear each clothing item. Samanta aspires to be a Fashion Designer and draws croquis since she was 12, besides being a photography lover.

And last, but not in the LEAST least, Maison de Nana, run by blogger Nana Fernandes (Fashion Designer). Maision de Nana was born in 2009 from the owner's desire of having somewhere she could talk about fashion and everything that goes on in this universe her own way. Declared Twitter addict, Nana admits to not living without her Blackberry (high five, Nana!) On answering the question about her blog's name "why Maison de Nana?" she said 'Maison' was the first word she learned in French when she was a kid, and when she saw what it meant (Maison = mansion, big house, house) she said when she had her own Brand it would be called 'Maison de Nana'.

Our Inheritance of Punk

Back at the 80’s, a style that would change fashion forever was born in London. The leather boots and jackets, second-handed army clothes, dirty or ripped, full or anarchism signs and chains and tacks were all part of the punk wardrobe. Back then, two stylists defined the movement: Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren (creator and manager of the Sex Pistols), with their shop ‘SEX’ at Chelsea.
Nowadays the punk is not as it was before, and many pieces were incorporated in fashion, you don’t have to be a punk to wear leather jackets or Doc Martens boots, color your hair or wear a Mohawk. The important thing punk thought us is that we don’t have to be the way society expect us to be. Punk destroyed the male clothing pattern, and forever changed the female beauty stereotype, the shock it caused defined generations of young people that would fight against stereotypes and their lack of truts in the government and revolutionary thoughts.

So what can we learn from punk, even in fashion is that you are free, and allowed to wear whatever you want, wherever you want. The thing is, you don’t have to be one thing only. We are many things, there are days that I feel like dressing lightly and wearing white, and there are days that I like to wear my Doc Martens boots and black make-up. Does that define us? Of course not. We are complex, if what we wear define who we are, we better wear a lot of styles and colors, because inside we are not only one thing.

So don’t be shy and try adding punk and funky new elements to your wardrobe, it might do your mind good!
