Nº3 of the world is polish Anja Rubik. The top model has appeared topless in several magazines, editorials and adds. I call if fierciness.

But out of the runways, Anja is obviously a big fan of volume, and she wears it well.
Be it on her pants of coats, I don't think you'll ever be bored by her looks.

And I'll give her the 'most daring supermodel' prize, because she deserves it, for sure! I like her attitude.


Nº2 of our list is the very well known Freja Beha Erichsen. I think even someone who has never heard of models, has heard of her.

The denmark face of Haute Couture is a fan of all blak looks. I particularly like it very much, but for most people, being in black all the time in every look can make you too much the center of attention, or too little. For her, it works.

Plus, we can see a bit of color now and then.


And finally, our Nº1 is russian most famous model, Natasha Poly (or Natalia Polevshchikova).

Being an experienced model, her style has had variety over time.

From big fashionist coats to skinny jeans and jackets, the model obviously loves fur (let us hope it's fake!)
But honestly, do you know someone else who can pull of this futuristic look?

This is my absolute favorite, I love everything about it.

As you can see, even thought they are very into the fashion industry, each has developed their own style, and wear things they like without being victims of fashion rules and trends. That's what we should learn, to take up the trends that suit us and get the most out of the fashion industry!

The Top 5 Models of the world and what they wear

Models.com has a list of the world's most broadcasted top models of today. As top models, we all know how they look like on the runway, but what are their personal styles? Part of being a top model is the influence you'll have with your personal style.


Nº5 of our list is Abbey Lee Kershaw, australian sweetheart (also ranked 21st on the "Top Money Girls" list by models.com) and as we can see, she is great with layers.

We often see the beauty wearing jackets over dresses, and boots. Quite vintage and hippie inspired, always.

I personaly think her style is very worthy of a top 5 as well.

Nº4 is Joan Smalls, the Puerto Rico girl, whose real name is Joan Rodriguez.

The latina has a basic style, but very sophisticated one. If we consider her great figure and beautiful skin, why not?


Karlie Kloss share Joan's 4º place. American ballet dancer, also named best model in 2008 by People magazine.

Karlie has unique beauty, and the typical american girl style suits her well.

She keeps her silhouettes clean and straight. We see her in simple but very well put up clothes, and not too much layering. She keeps the center of her look in an accessorie, a vest, a purse, or a lipstick.

Running out of Black!

A/W 11 follows the direction of the trends of S/S 11 and the colors are still really in.






With the cold weather we are used to build several layers of clothing and is much easier to create a black monochromatic look, but this season is more about colors and textures.





Colors like brown, green and wine are great for winter and tweeds are a very warm way to fight the basic and boring black.










Canary yellow promises to be the next big thing for S/S 12, why not invest in some garments in this color? It is a great way to break the ice of that black dress that you have in the closet!





The silk blouses were reinvented for fall: besides being a staple that can be loaded from work to a night out, it brings the charm to any look!





With the Tribal vibe going on at the fashion world this season, it is difficult to ignore the vibrant colors and prints!





Another trend is the Polka, abuse of this pattern to create fun looks with a vintage flair and clear away the monochromatic!





Do not use the excuse of androgyny to park into the black zone! Think more about the male wardrobe and take it those prints we love: stripes, chalk stripe and plaid too!





 
And to up that look for a night out, abuse of the stars, the more sparkle the better!





With all these trends will be easy to avoid the black!

Feminine and Professional working wardrobe

Opening my English edition of Elle this month, the first article I read was a Courtney Emartin one, "Feminism: We really got all that?" 




For a long time I wanted to write about it and never had much inspiration, but surely that piece gave me what I needed!
Long years have passed since women "burned bras" and fought for equality in the constitution. Though they have managed to open the legal way for equality, prejudice is not only on the laws, but in people's minds.








When I say this, I am referring not only to sexism. In women's head  there is still a long way to go for considering themselfs "equal".
The way you dress says a lot about who you are, or at least who you appear to be. One of the biggest dilemmas that women suffer when dressing is to keep the work wardrobe seriously but still feminine.










For many years women have opted for the famous suit in the workplace and it was not because androgyny was in. They wanted to be respected in the workplace then decided to match their wardrobe to men's clothes.
We can see in the 80's and 90's much structure in the shoulders and large pants in offices, the women wanted to be recognized for their talent and not for their beauty.













Today women have gained more space and are occupying increasingly prominent positions and the need to match the men gradually disappears.
That's why the new must-have garment for  the working wardrobe is the dress 18 hours, which can be taken from the work to a night out.








This shows that women are trying to get back on track for more feminine look. The problem is that many people confuse "sexy and feminine" with "vulgar and adolescent" and end up betting on desperate combinations as mini skirt or clevage for the office.


The secret to not get lost in the middle of this path is self-knowledge. Knowing the shape of your body, your correct size and understand the points to be shown off!
In an era of women wearing barely nothing in magazines, movies and TV shows the image of the Gucci woman inspires me to be sexy and professional in the correct proportions. Showing that it is entirely possible to be sexy, feminine and professional showing less and valorize more herself.

Rock in Rio

Rock in Rio this year was fully crowded on friday with Katy Perry's, Elton John's and Rihanna's performances. The first day was basically pop.
Let's check out their outfits, shall we?

Katy Perry changed her outfit a thousand times over the songs, and specially at the 'Hot and Cold' song, which was worth about 10 different dresses, each one fitting under the other.


She even called a fan on stage and let him kiss her! Katy then said 'get the fuck off my stage' and sang 'I Kissed a Girl' a girl? Troll much.

This guy's new an instant Twitter celebrity.

Elton John wore his usual not-so-sutil style.

But his songs will never get old. I just love him.

Rihanna closed the night with a lot of energy.

She's great live, but a bit shy with the public. She didn't say much, but as we can see, her outfit spoke for her. Plus, I love her hair like this, for me it's so much better than the bright red.

And she kept the candy-like outfit through the whole show.

I have to say I quite like the glasses.
So are you guys ready for the whole week of Rock in Rio? Concerts are going to get more rock 'n roll like.

Finding the Right Red Lipstick For Your Skin Tone

Red lipstick is something that will never go out of fashion, and can be worn by everyone. But not all reds are the same, and you must wear the tone that will accentuate your looks, not take all of your attention away to your lips.

The first thing to know is that, when wearing red lipstick, it's best that you make it the highlight of your make-up. You don't want to look like a clown; keep the rest of your face light, so the focus will be your lips.

For light skin, reds that are bright or a bit pink, but keeping the lighter tones will look best. They will bright up your skin, specially if you are a bit 'pink'.

For dark or super tanned skin, choose a red colour that is close to light pink, orange or salmon. Remember that it's still red, we are talking only about the undercolors. The tones that are a bit less vibrant will make a better choice.

There are also people who look good with all shades os red. Lucky them, huh?

If in doubt, test! Every store or stand has testers, and by applying different shades and tones on your forearm, you can easily tell which one is the right for you.

For me the best brands for lipstick are M.A.C and Lancôme. They are soft and some of them have a moisturizing effect, which means your lips don't dehydrate. Plus, red lipstick is never going out of fashion, so you can have as many shades as you want without worrying if you'll wear them all.

A step forward on colors

Pantone is the institution responsible for deciding the colors that will be the guideline to designers during the season. In general, Pantone is at least three seasons ahead of the current, which enables designers to start planning their collections long before the fashion weeks.



For next season, Spring/Summer 2012 colors that will appear on the catwalks are:


- Tangerine Tango: Orange Hue
- Energia Solar:  Yellow with shades of red
- Sodalita Azul: One of the shades near to the Navy
- Cabaret: Warm shade of pink
- Starfish: The neutral of the season
- Margarita: Pastel Green-Yellow

- Driftwood: A mixture of beige and gray
- Bellflower: Oriental Purple
- Cockatoo: Blue-green
